Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

French railway operator SNCF plans to hire 300 workers in Italy as part of its expansion strategy. The recruitment will include train drivers, conductors, operational center staff, and maintenance personnel, supporting an overall investment of €800 million.
The company aims to attract Italian travelers who currently choose air, bus or car transportation, or who decide not to travel at all, avoiding in this way direct competition with existing rail operators (Trenitalia and Italo).
The Milan-Turin-Paris connection represents the most significant route in this expansion, with summer 2025 bookings already showing a 10% increase compared to last year, despite journey times extending from 7 to 9 hours
