Description

Belda Llorens, a historic textile firm based in Banyeres de Mariola with nearly 70 years of activity, has concluded negotiations on its Employment Redundancy File (ERE) without reaching an agreement. The company will dismiss all its 103 employees gradually, depending on the availability of funds to cover statutory severance payments, set at the legal minimum of 20 days per year worked, capped at 12 months.

Worker representatives did propose more favourable terms (27 days per year and up to 18 months), which have been rejected by the company. Most of the workforce has been on paid leave for over a month, with only a few employees maintaining basic operations. The company, citing severe financial losses and market paralysis, intends to fund the dismissals through the sale of machinery and remaining stock.

Worker representatives have expressed deep dissatisfaction with both the outcome and the negotiation process, accusing the company of lacking transparency and genuine willingness to reach a fair agreement.
