Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

CPM, a Spanish call centre, has reached an agreement with trade unions regarding an employment redundancy file (ERE) at its call centre in Barcelona, reducing dismissals from the initially proposed 577 employees to 536.
Under the terms negotiated, affected workers will receive compensation of 25 days' pay per year of employment, slightly above the statutory minimum of 20 days but below recent sector precedents. The redundancy was triggered primarily by the loss of several major clients. Although supported by the majority union, the deal has been strongly criticised by other unions, which described it as the sector's worst settlement in years. The agreement follows one month of intense negotiations, concluding just within the legally permitted timeframe
