Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

The US-based company Greenbrier announced the closure of the Astra Rail wagon factory in Arad, citing economic and logistical difficulties. 699 employees will be dismissed as the wagon plant in Arad will definitively shut down at the end of June. The announcement was confirmed by Arad County Agency Employment (AJOFM), which was notified on Monday of the collective redundancy of 699 employees out of a total of 777.
In Romania, Greenbrier still has two operational plants in Caracal (Olt County) and Drobeta Turnu Severin (Mehedinti County), which will take over current orders and where the company plans to continue investing.
Company officials also announced that they will work closely with trade unions and local authorities to support employees affected by the decision.
