Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS), a German shipbuilding group in the defence sector, is creating 100 new jobs at its Wismar site next year - primarily in submarine construction. This development is driven by multi-billion euro orders from the German government for submarines and civilian projects such as a polar research vessel.
In the following years, a further 1,300 jobs may be created by 2029. TKMS is focussing on permanent, collectively agreed positions, plans to integrate existing skilled workers and wants to expand vocational training.
IG Metall Küste expressly supports the development and emphasises that TKMS is an employer worth recommending.
TKMS employs around 8,000 people worldwide and operates shipyards in Kiel, Wismar, and Brazil, among other locations.
