Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Sunsundegui, a historical bus manufacturing company based in Alsasua (Navarre), will present an employment regulation file (ERE) of all its 341 employees. In this regard, Sunsundegui will enter liquidation on 14 April 2025, following the withdrawal of the only potential investor, Dumarey, who ultimately failed to present a formal offer.
The company, burdened by €48.8 million in debt—€8.9 million owed to suppliers and €39.9 million to financial institutions—has been under insolvency proceedings since November 2024. Despite holding a sizeable order book of 530 buses for 2025, Sunsundegui lacks both the liquidity and the organisational and technical capacity to meet production demands profitably. The insolvency administrator has informed the works council that, in the absence of any viable investment proposal, the firm is now destined for asset liquidation and the dismissal of all 341 employees unless an unlikely last-minute solution emerges
