Description

Welcome to the Jungle, a recruitment specialist, is cutting 35 jobs in France through voluntary departures due to a challenging political and economic context and stagnant revenue. In addition to these layoffs, the company is shutting down its office in the Czech Republic as part of a strategic shift to focus on expanding its presence in the United Kingdom and the United States.

Despite its ambitions, the company has struggled to reach profitability in 2024. To strengthen its market position, Welcome to the Jungle recently acquired Lymia and Otta, two companies specializing in recruitment technology.

As of 2025, the company has a total workforce of 350 employees.

Update, [16/04/2025] After several months of negotiations, the management and members of the Social and Economic Committee (CSE) have signed a voluntary departure agreement concerning up to 102 of the 260 employees in France. Under this plan, 60 employees will be able to leave the company, with 35 of these positions not being replaced. Departing employees will receive €3 500 gross per year of seniority, along with five months of mobility leave paid at 70% of their salary or a bonus upon finding a new job. Employees have 21 days to decide, and departures are expected to begin in June.

The majority of those affected belong to the editorial team. In January, the company announced that its team of eleven, and a dozen videographers would be replaced by three content managers. Management later justified the shift to a voluntary departure plan, claiming it aligns better with the company’s culture and avoids the lengthy and damaging process of forced redundancies. Several employees state that they are being forced to leave. If no one accepts the offer, the company will be unable to initiate a redundancy plan for six months. However, employees are concerned about being sidelined, as their department is being dismantled.
