Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Europlasma took over the Fonderie de Bretagne, keeping 263 of the 295 workers who faced dismissals due to the closure of the factory. The company had been facing receivership for three months. From September 2025, the factory will focus its manufacturing on shell components for the army, rather than gearboxes and suspensions as before. This diversification of their portfolio in the defence sector will help to manage the decrease in demand in the automotive sector.
The activity at the Fonderie de Bretagne restarted in May 2025, with modifications to the production lines taking place over the summer to enable the first pieces of munitions manufacturing by September 2025.
A prior large restructuring by Europlasma has been recorded in the ERM database with the loss of 125 jobs in 2024 Europlasma 2024 - FR.
